100 Beautiful Things

Seeing the beauty around us isn’t something we’re usually focused on. Find your inner artist’s eye and turn the lens to the present to observe the beauty of the outward world and then turn the lens inward to the mind and heart, which fosters finding big and small things to have graditude for. Here are a few of my favourite, beautiful things.

•  moving to music

•  listening to music

•  a child’s laugh

•  a dog’s wagging tail

•  the sun on my face

•  the wind in my hair

•  pulling a bright red tomato off a tomato plant

•  biting into an apple

• accepting others as they are now

• a kitten’s soft fur

• cozy slippers

• accepting myself as I am now

• a favourite bathrobe

• a warm blanket

• a smile

• a laugh

• building strength, physical, emotional or mental

• my ability to make someone laugh

• my ability to make someone smile

• scars that heal and make us stronger

• the wisdom that comes with wrinkles

• spending time with a new friend

• spending time with an old friend

• a favourite tea or coffee mug

• purple orchids blooming

• an amaryllis bulb in bloom

• a witty personality

• a new discovery

• a new perspective

• being aware of the breath

• being present

• watching spider plants multiply and giving them away

• growing vegetables

• creating something beautiful

• creating pottery

• creating a watercolour painting

• creating something in the kitchen

• biting a chocolate chip cookie

• the smell of basil

• the smell of lavender

• the smell of a baby’s head

• gratitude

• dignity

• peace

• feeling calm

• feeling content

• letting go of a negative thought

• letting go of a thought that doesn’t serve your happiness

• letting go of an angry thought

• making someone feel good about themselves

• giving a compliment

• offering to help
